Takethatdarkmatterposter,whichcarriesthetagline"SomethingElseIsOutThere."Themassivespiderseencrawlingacrosstheskyonaglowingwebispurefiction,buttheconceptalludestosomethingcalledthecosmicweb,whichisthelarge-scaleorganizationofmatteranddarkmatterintheuniverse:Thinfilamentsofmatteranddarkmatterconnectclustersofgalaxies,likeroadwaysbetweenmajorcities.Infact,scientificvisualizationsofthecosmicweblooksimilartothespiderwebfeaturedintheposter.

Similarly,thetwonarrowenergybeamsseeninthegammarayburstposterreflecthowtheyoccurinreallife,travelinginoppositedirectionsfromthecollidingstellarcorpses.Theburstsaresointensethatifsuchaneventoccurred"close"totheEarth,causingabeamtofiredirectlyatourplanet,thebeamofradiationandparticlescoulddoharm.Buttherarityoftheseeventsmakesthatextremelyunlikely,accordingJudyRacusin,anastrophysicistatNASAsGoddardSpaceFlightCenterwhoalsoconsultedontheposters.Infact,astronomersestimatethatagammarayburstgoesoffinourgalaxyonlyaboutonceevery10,000years,buttheyareonlyvisibletousaboutevery10,000,000to100,000,000years.Eventhen,oneoftheseeventswouldntnecessarilyposeathreattoourplanet.
